A mechanic was busy working on a car, removing the cylinder heads, when he noticed a well-known heart surgeon waiting in the garage for his car to be serviced.
The mechanic called out, “Hey, Doctor! Come over here for a moment!”
Surprised, the heart surgeon walked over. The mechanic stood up, wiped his hands on a rag, and said, “Take a look at this engine. I opened it up, removed the valves, fixed them, and put everything back together. So tell me, why do I get paid so little while you make so much for doing basically the same thing?”
The doctor smiled and leaned in close, then quietly replied, “Try doing it while the engine is still running.”
