A Wild Boar was intently sharpening his tusks on the stump of a tree when a Fox wandered by.
The Fox, always eager to mock his neighbors, put on a dramatic show of glancing nervously around, pretending to fear an unseen enemy. But the Boar continued his task without distraction.
“Why are you doing that?” the Fox finally asked with a smirk. “I don’t see any danger around here.”
“You’re right,” the Boar replied calmly, “but when danger does appear, there won’t be time for this kind of preparation. My weapons must be ready, or I’ll regret it.”
Moral: Being prepared is the best way to ensure peace.
