A woman on vacation calls her husband to check in.
“How’s everything going? How’s my cat?” she asks.
Her husband responds, “Well… the cat passed away.”
Shocked and upset, the woman says, “You could’ve been more gentle with the news! Now my whole vacation is ruined. You should’ve said something like, ‘The cat’s stuck on the roof and we’re trying to get her down.’ That way, I could’ve braced myself.”
“You’re right, I’m sorry,” the husband says. “I’ll handle it better next time.”
“Okay… so how’s my mom doing?” the woman asks.
The husband pauses for a moment before replying, “Your mom’s on the roof… and we’re having a hard time getting her down.”
