Don’t Forget The Past!

Sharing is caring!

There once was a blind girl who despised herself simply because she couldn’t see. She held resentment toward everyone, except for her loyal boyfriend, who was always by her side. She told him, “If only I could see the world, I’d marry you.”

One day, a miracle happened—she received a pair of donated eyes. Finally, she could see everything, including her boyfriend. He gently asked, “Now that you can see the world, will you marry me?”

But the girl was stunned when she saw that her boyfriend was blind as well. Overcome with shock, she refused his proposal. Heartbroken, the boyfriend walked away in tears, later leaving her a note that read:

“Please take good care of my eyes, dear.”

This story shows how people’s minds can shift when their circumstances change. Few remember who stood by them through the hardest times.

Life Is A Gift

Today, before you utter an unkind word, think of someone who can’t speak at all.

Before you complain about the food on your plate, think of those who have nothing to eat.

Before you criticize your spouse, think of someone praying desperately for a partner.

Before you grumble about life, remember those who left too soon for heaven.

Before you get frustrated with your children, think of those who long for kids but cannot have them.

Before you complain about the chores, think of those who have no home to clean.

Before you grumble about driving a long distance, remember those who walk everywhere they go.

And before you complain about your job, think of the unemployed or the disabled who wish they could work.

Before you point fingers or judge someone else, remember none of us are without faults, and we all answer to one Maker.

And when negative thoughts weigh you down, put a smile on your face and be grateful that you are still here, living another day.

Life is a precious gift—Live it. Enjoy it. Celebrate it. Embrace it fully.
