A popular speaker began his seminar by holding up a $20 bill in front of a crowd of 200 people. He asked, “Who would like this $20 bill?” Every hand in the room went up.
He continued, “I’m going to give this $20 to one of you, but first, let me do this.” He crumpled the bill up tightly and asked again, “Now, who still wants it?” All the hands stayed up.
“Okay, but what if I do this?” He dropped the bill on the floor, stepped on it, and then picked it up. It was now dirty and crumpled. “Who still wants it?” Every hand stayed up.
He smiled and said, “No matter what I did to this bill, its value didn’t change. It’s still worth $20. In life, you’ll be crumpled, stepped on, and face tough situations, but no matter what, you will never lose your value. Always remember how special you are!”
