To Love and to Be Loved

Sharing is caring!

Once upon a time, there was a man living in poverty with his wife. One day, the wife, who had beautiful, long hair, asked her husband if he could buy her a comb to help her hair grow well and stay neat.

The man, feeling deeply sorry, had to say no. He explained that he didn’t even have enough money to fix the broken strap of his watch.

Understanding his situation, she didn’t push her request further.

That day, on his way to work, the man passed by a watch store and decided to sell his broken watch for a small sum. With the money, he bought a comb for his wife.

He returned home that evening, excited to surprise her with the comb. However, to his shock, he found her with her hair cut short. She had sold her long hair to buy him a new strap for his watch.

Tears welled up in both their eyes, not out of regret for their actions, but from the deep love they had for one another.

Moral: To love is special, to be loved is a gift, but to love and be loved in return by the one you care for, that is everything.
